GROUNDING

Marina is grounded in the territory manifests through an apiary located along the Saint Lawrence River, in fertile soil abundant with flowers and also hosting an orchard. This project is known as “Rucher de l’Ambroisie,” referring to ἀμϐροσία (ambrosía), the food of the Greek gods that rendered them immortal. In Greek texts, ambrosia was described both as a drink and as an edible food, often sticky and golden. Today, it is thought to have been both mead and honey. Ambrosia is also a plant, likely named for its resilient and nearly immortal nature, albeit sometimes invasive. The apiary’s logo depicts its foliage and blooms surrounding an amphora overflowing with honey, held by the bees.

Since 2018, this small apiary has contributed to plant pollination within a 3 km radius, ensuring the well-being of bees cared for with attention and patience, without the use of pesticides or harmful products for their health and that of the earth. Since 2021, honey produced by the bees have been available for sale on their Facebook page and at Racine bakery in Cacouna, when available.
